Garnet color, fruity nose, with elements of cherry and raspberry evident. On the palate, plum, raspberry, strawberry, watermelon, and dry cranberry flavors. I light-bodied wine, easy-drinking, easy to like. A good summer wine, perfect for grilled sausages, marinated chicken, or pork chops. A good choice with grilled salmon.
Varietally true zinfandel, and bigger than its predecessor. Ruby color, with greater depth and intensity. Vanilla on the nose plus cardamom, coffee, and dark chocolate. Those flavors, along with wild blackberry, cocoa, and white pepper make for a complex wine. Tannins are more evident. Perfect with backyard grilled Kern County tri-tip.
A big, fruity wine with more body. Varietal Zinfandel flavors – blackberry, boysenberry, sweet red bell pepper. A bigger wine with darker ruby fruit than its siblings. The added year’s vineyard maturity shows. Sweet vanilla from the oak threads through the wine. Pair with grilled lamb chops. Should stand up to a grilled sirloin steak.
